No you can't Take it away from me With well laid plan or mediocrity With false sleeved hearts Or bloody diamond thrones Twisted screams Extorted radios So give me something sacred Gimme something pure Give me back my magic and a place to burn A place to burn A place to burn So I'm a taking back what Was stolen long ago Just as a root crack's pavement I'm claiming what was sold for nothing picture postcards and fracture-charted minds broken lipped bylines and empty charted signs So gimme something sacred Gimme something pure Gimme back my magic and a place to burn A place to burn A place to burn A place to burn A place to burn
2.
Wayward dream children Won't you lay your big money down Silver coins and neon signs will cycle back to the ground There's a trembling current that is searching to be found in between the reasoned word and the pretty pennied sound Hey now Hey now Hey now Time has come For you and I Yeah We are as one Hey now Hey now Time has come For you and I Yeah We are as one Broke down emperor The tangled pearls of your line Whispered down in beaded dreams offering truth offering lies There's a rising currency within And out of time Just west of the darkling gold For which we're taught to climb Hey now Hey now Hey now Time has come For you and I Yeah We are as one Hey now Hey now Time has come For you and I Yeah We are as one

Open all the windows Open all the doors Shake your bell and string now baby Make your light unfold Spit the dark horse backwards Bend your will anew Rise up from the shore and dance From what you once knew When you smile on Well you know that they can't kill you When you smile on they can never break you down Let us see your beauty Under tangled vine While the candle floats above Wicked tide and time A desert in the shape Between the sand and sea Like a letter from the air You're shining, wild, and free When you smile on Well you know that they can't kill you When you smile on they can never break you down

Well your way's gonna stumble And your will's gonna rise And the truth of the matter is Difficult to surmise Crooked winds gonna shudder Simple smiles gonna shine And the way things are going there's Little reason or rhyme But shadows and fate Don't hesitate for It's hard to define The curve from the line Line Porcelain's gonna crumble Silhouettes gonna slide But the path we have chosen goes Up and down thru the tide Well your pain's gonna flutter and your fear's gonna fly and the course of the moment takes a blink of an eye But shadows and fate Don't hesitate for It's hard to define The curve from the line Line And it’s something unsaid Always tangling the head And it’s hard to unwind The space from the time Time Time

Mama and Daddy How'd it get like this? Selling our future For a bag full of tricks Poisoning our water Our land and our minds For thirty pieces of silver Whistle down the wind For a road paved with gold Dreams of the past And the days we once owned Forgetting the future for the great white lie and thirty pieces of silver Disposable heroes and half-empty rooms The flash of the neon And the twist of the view The unwritten pleasure And the ghost of the moon For thirty pieces of silver Which way should we wander Which way should we roam This current is closing Folding back to the loam The diamonds are cracking And the blood's pouring for Thirty pieces of silver They're buying our silence We're just selling ourselves by the pound With your cheap toys and violence You're burning my world to the ground These questions and inklings They cut deep to the bone Where is our future? Tell me where is our home? The seven generations We've yet to have known For thirty pieces of silver Looking back on the past With historical eyes A shiny new game and A freshly won prize Are just paper tigers To distract from inside And thirty pieces of silver They're buying our silence We're just selling ourselves by the pound With your cheap toys and violence You're burning my world to the ground Take us back to the river Take us back to the shore Take us back to the feelings We learned once before Raise us on wings that sing something more And forget your Forget your pieces of silver Yes forget your Forget your pieces of silver You can forget your Forget your pieces of silver
6.
Hey can't you see These lines they're not me They're just a shadow Of who I used to be When the time comes and you softly descend I step aside And hear what you intend And when the light it comes shimmering my way And the snow on the ground is so clear With the wind building up on the highway And the thoughts on the mind of the seer Hey, hey it's so real Blue sheets and the lights and their feel Well it's understood That what you learn you steal It's coming fast The pink and the tongue and the lash Into the room With ghosts and scents of the past And when the light it comes shimmering my way And the snow on the ground is so clear With the wind building up on the highway And the thoughts on the mind of the seer We've got no right And we've got no wrong Just a couple of chords and the words to a song
7.
The people in this town don't wanna know The ugly truth, the hunger and the show So if you think you've finally got the lines Don't waste your time dealing other peoples lies The people in this town don't wanna see The widening gulf, the greed, the misery And just like that your ethics down the drain Don't speak the needs that feed that business game Under no illusions Under no denials There's a freedom ringing In a simple style But the way you're walking And the way you're talking are a little suspect with that corporate style You're selling out again Forget your mother, brother, reason, and your friends You're selling out again Forget your mother, brother, reason, and your friends The history of all that came before Is pressing itself firmly at the door And if your mind is tangled like a wire Well sing like your ancestors are on fire The people in this world are all in need Come together share our unity And if they beat and break your heart's and minds Endeavor to find beauty in all times Under no illusions Under no denials There's a freedom ringing In a simple style But the way you're walking And the way you're talking are a little suspect with that corporate style You're selling out again Forget your mother, brother, reason, and your friends You're selling out again Forget your mother, brother, reason, and your friends You're selling out again Forget your mother, brother, reason, and your friends You're selling out again Forget your mother, brother, reason, and your friends You're selling out again Forget your mother, brother, reason, and your friends You're selling out again Forget your mother, brother, reason, and your friends You're selling out again Forget your mother, brother, reason, and your friends You're selling out again Forget your mother, brother, reason, and your friends

This endless desire Keeps eluding me and when I have what I want Is it really what I need? Oh oh You thought something might change Oh oh You thought something might change This hole without end The one I cannot fill I've been gazing for days With barely a thrill Oh oh You thought something might change Oh oh You thought something might change But the high water's rising And the Shit's gonna hit the fan Material is calling 'Cause a heart rarely changes hands This master and this slave The mind fuck and the din Aren't easily erased But you can buy your way in Oh oh You thought something might change Oh oh You thought something might change But there's a recourse and a vibe Can't you see by now? Everything is on the line Can't buy your way out Oh oh You thought something might change Oh oh You thought something might change But the high water's rising And the Shit's gonna hit the fan Material is calling 'Cause a heart rarely changes hands
9.
When faith is insane And hope is in vain Where do you go When all your troubles Are one and the same? And the ghosts hang low No place like home when you're going down slow Well you're brave and you're free Bleeding west Down to the sea Where all your ships Sink sleepily Loaded heavy with gold and the sails swing low No place like home When you're going down slow Broken down Like the frontier Drawing lines Tapping fears But that sweet Grace bound train Is always near Oh the wheel moves slow No place like home No place like home

about

Lyrically inspired by early 60’s protest songs and early punk rock, Ghosts Hang Low aims to help re-inject a sense of social awareness and commentary into 21-Century music. Addressing such issues as unity, pollution, art, technology, corruption, disenchantment, creativity, mystery, selling out, materialism, inspiration and love; Ghosts Hang Low is an attempt to examine these topics through Rock & Roll and has been described by poet/performer Anne Waldman as: “a synchronized sensory achievement”.

Ghosts Hang Low features “deep, rich lyrics” and”gorgeous tones” and scintillates with dynamic feeling; exploring quiet acoustic contemplations and raw, gritty electric guitar, the album resonates with emotion and vibe. It was recorded in a hybrid fashion and produced in tandem by Max Davies and Kwest. A sort of “old-school” meets modern digital technology production style was employed. Wherein vocals, acoustic guitar and drums were all tracked live and then some overdubs were added. The music harkens back to a style of production that is becoming less of the norm in the ultra-loud, zero-decibel world of today. Ultimately, these songs were built to say something (not only lyrically, but sonically) about where things were, where they are, and where they are going.
