about

Once upon a time, in a place called Nevada City, myself and Pete Newsom spent a rainy winter evening playing music in his garage attic. We often would gather here to rehearse for the fun of playing, a duo we affectionately named The Godmothers. These particular musical peregrinations were recorded live with a small, hand-held micro-cassette recorder that had the unappealing tendency to record only one channel. These sounds were left floating in an ambivalent digital sphere until recently, when the judicious application of MS decoding, equalization, et al, provided a quality foundation for which some audio files of cosmic radio transmissions (namely of a pulsar and Saturn) were nicely superimposed as an homage to the tradition of Musique concrète.
All thanks to the spirits of Neu!, Can, Cluster, and Co. for the inspiration, and of course the music of the spheres for their contribution.
